Use Up Those Backgrounds! Shine On Blog Hop with Simon Says Stamp

I love getting inky and creating batches of backgrounds… but after a while, the backgrounds I create during my play sessions start to add up and I need to use them! Do you have the same problem?

Oftentimes when I have a surplus of backgrounds that need to get used, I find that a cover plate die is a great way to incorporate them into a card. The new Falling Stars die from Simon Says Stamp’s Shine On release is a GREAT all-purpose background that can be used any time of year—which I hope is illustrated in the cards I’m sharing today using it.

One of my cards is more generic—you could use this for encouragement, birthdays, and more. I cut the Falling Stars from this bright, watercolored background and paired it with Simon Says Stamp’s 3D Cone, Craft Fluffs, and Having Fun sets to make these sweet cotton candy pieces. I love the silver bursts and bolds colors across this card.

The other card is obviously holiday-themed, which goes to show you that these stars are perfect for all seasons! I matched up the stars with a Snow Laden Trees die set… covered with White Heat and Fluff for the ultimate snow effect! I also added Chunky Rock Candy glitter for extra snow-sparkle. The new Nostalgic Christmas Greetings stamp and die set added the perfect sentiment on my card.
