Embossing Folder Blackout Technique with Color + Blog Hop
The blackout technique is an amazing way to add extreme depth to a project. Have you ever tried this technique with a color ink instead of black? It creates a whimsical effect that black ink can’t quite achieve; though black is beautiful in its own right, it doesn’t give the same feel that a colored ink does. Which makes both equally as interesting for different card projects!

I’m using the new Alstroemeria Blooms embossing folder, part of the Every Happiness collection from Simon Says Stamp. I also paired up the Darling Patterns stencils and Dewpierce Dragonfly dies with this project, adding texture and detail to the card.

The sentiment for this card is from the Daisy Frame stamp and die set—the floral greetings in the set are perfect for this!

In the video I will also share my trick for creating the perfect “random” sequin scattering!

Beautiful card Nina. I love this technique! I used it a couple of years ago to make anniversary cards, trying to use each couple’s flower type embossing folder, if I had it.
