Stamped Florals + Liquid Tinsel for Magical Christmas Tag + New Dies for Tim Holtz Stamps

Tags are one of my favorite holiday projects to make. They are a smaller format, so oftentimes I find them less intimidating to create than a card; plus I am almost always putting these on a gift, so I don’t have to worry about the bulkiness for mailing—so I can go ALL OUT with foam tape and dimension!
For this layered tag I used the gorgeous Winter Watercolor stamps from Tim Holtz and the brand new Simon Says Stamp coordinating dies that match! Having dies for a set like this gives you so many more possibilities for building your floral arrangements. All of the inks that I used for stamping were from Simon Says Stamp. The tag base is from the Squovals set.

The sparkle on these flowers was all thanks to the Tim Holtz Liquid Tinsel glitter. Oh my gosh do I love the antique shimmer this adds to the piece. Truly magical! I also layered some Dazzling Gems in red on the stems of some of these pieces to create a more dimensional effect.
For the background of my tag, I embossed a piece of idea-ology Christmas backdrops with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Holly Poinsettia embossing folder. The ledger details created a wonderful texture. I also applied some Distress inks to the raised areas for a bit of subtle color—including some Vintage Photo—and sprayed the tag with Distress Spritz in Tattered Rose. Yuletide Mica Stain was perfect for splattering!

To finish off the tag I added some ephemera from the Tim Holtz idea-ology collection, along with some ribbon and cording at the top of the piece.
Be sure to check out the release of all the brand new coordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp that match Tim Holtz’s Christmas stamps—both new and old stamp sets!
