2 Halloween Decor Projects with New Coordinating Dies for Tim Holtz Stamps + Blog Hop

Halloween is such a fun holiday to create for! I’m using the new Simon Says Stamp coordinating dies to match Tim Holtz Halloween stamps to create TWO spooky-cool projects that are perfect for Halloween decor (and gifts for friends and family that like to decorate for the holiday)!

This framed piece was a blast to create. I found the frame at Home Goods over the summerβ€”when I stumbled upon it, I immediately saw myself using it for a Halloween make. At the time I had no idea I would end up using it for this project, but here we are!

The stamps and dies for the tombstone are from Monster Reunion. I colored the image with Copics and having the coordinating dies to cut the image out makes this project so much more detailed. I also stamped and die cut the moon from The Scarecrow set, which has multiple dies that allow you to create this 3D moonβ€”so cool! I added some fun bat die cuts, a bit of moss, and a blue ink-smooshed background from my stash of un-used pieces.

The sentiment on this piece was created with the Tiny Text Halloween stamps and Simon Says Stamp’s Tiny Text dies. The dies work with not only the Halloween set, but also the original Tiny Text and Tiny Text Christmas. For this project I die cut the sentiment with one of the banner dies, but there are many other styles in the set, including tattered edges, rounded rectangles, and more! I folded this banner to create the 3D shape, which looked pretty cool along the bottom of the scene.

My second project is a little reliquary dome! I just love making little scenes with these. This one I filled with a stamped image from Scared Silly. That eye ball jar is so darn cute! I colored it with Copics and then applied Translucent Crackle Paint overtop to get that shattered effect.

I hot-glued a toothpick to the jar so I could pierce that into the base of the dome (keeping it in place). I added moss and some Tim Holtz Halloween confections in the dome as well. You’ll notice that the base of the dome is painted orange, which is a nice contrast to the purple and greens on the jar.

I wanted to embellish the outside of the dome, so I tied some black twine around it and stamped “Oct. 31” on a miniature die cut Key Fob tag. It was the perfect little finishing touch for this piece!

These are such fun little projects to create and either use for your own Halloween decor, or gift to friends and family so they can use them in their homes! I hope you were inspired to try these for yourself.
