4 Ways to Use Altenew’s March Release
Hello everyone! I am so happy you are here, as I am guesting for the Altenew March release blog hop and I have quite a few cards to share with you!
In the video above, you’ll get a chance to see how I created this card using the beautiful Wildflower Garden stamp set.
I did a lot of stamping and layering to create a bit of depth to the frame of florals. And see that textured background? I made that with the gorgeous and also new, Dotted Scales cover plate die. Don’t you love the detail it adds to your paper?
I made another version of this card using the same products and the same ink colors for the most part, but I changed the layout a bit and used a different sentiment.
Altenew is well known for all their stunning stamp sets, particularly their layering sets. This next card I made uses the new Hope layering set along with a few oldie-but-goodie sets of theirs; Floral Shadow and Beautiful Day. I used those sets to make additional layers behind the floral arrangement.
My sentiment was stamped using the Story of Us set and I put a few sparkling Buttercream gems from Pretty Pink Posh here and there too. And of course I added that same Dotted Scallops cover plate die in the background.
What do you think of the Cross Stitch Flower stamp set? It’s really detailed; check out the awesome cross stitch effect you can get from just some simple stamping! I think the butterflies are adorable too!
I layered my floral arrangement on top of the Watercolor Stripes cover plate die (also from Altenew), which is cut from some Distress Woodgrain cardstock. I love the texture! The die cut sentiment is from the Script Words set and I placed a few little jewels from Lucy’s Cards around the arrangement too.
My last card I’m featuring today is a watercolored – if you can believe it! I used the Mega Succulent stamp set and Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to create the base watercoloring; afterwards I added fine details with colored pencils. The most interesting part of this design is that this is actually three layers.
I had stamped the image three times and colored each one in sections; then I fussy cut two of those sections out. After cutting them out, I adhered the two sections onto the last panel with foam tape. I LOVE the dimension! There are some clear confetti sequins adhered to the card and I added Nuvo Drops onto each one; it’s one of my favorite techniques. And that pretty sentiment is also from the Mega Succulent set. The script is so beautiful!
I hope you enjoyed seeing all of these ideas using the new release from Altenew! Scroll back up to the top of the post if you missed the video showing how I made the first card I shared. Plus keep on reading to learn more about the blog hop celebrating the new release!
Thanks for joining me today and enjoy the rest of this hop!
