CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #128

Hello, so glad you’ve stopped by! Today I have the honor of serving as a guest designer for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #308, and I encourage you all to come play along with us!

This week’s sketch features a fun striped design with a horizontally spaced sentiment, and I really loved all the straight, graphic lines.

And here is my take on the sketch…

I created my card by first covering a 4″ by 5 1/2″ white card base with silver and purple-pink glitter tape. I then cut a 2″ high window into the card for where my sentiment will go; a piece of white cardstock is layered behind the window with foam tape.

Inside my Silhouette Studio (Designer Edition), I created the “happy” die cut using the Sweet Tea font by Sweet Elsie, and cut it out a total of four times with my Cameo; three times from white cardstock, and once from black.  I layered the pieces together, making sure the black piece was adhered at a slight offset to create a shadow effect. The die cut is then covered with Wink of Stella clear glitter and some Glossy Accents.

I adhered some black scalloped cardstock strips along the edges of my window, and stamped the word “birthday” from the Lawn Fawn Beep Boop Birthday stamp set.

Using the Simon Says Stamp Celebration Time die set, I die cut the balloon four times from Doll Pink cardstock. I layered them together, drew on the ‘highlight’ with a white paint pen, and covered the entire piece with Glossy Accents. Once dry, I tied on a bit of silver cord and attached it to my card.

Finally, my happy die cut is adhered inside the window with foam tape, and my card is finished!

I love the bold colors of this card, and I had such a fun time serving as a guest designer for CAS(E) this Sketch! I cannot wait to see what all of you create in this week’s challenge… good luck and Happy Creating!
