Happy Friday! I am back to share a cute, springtime card featuring stamps from Simon Says Stamp, Avery Elle, and Penny Black Inc.
The colors for my card were inspired by the current ColourQ color challenge (#284)… I really love how they looked together, and thought they would be perfect for the card I had in mind.
I began by stamping my background using some clouds from the Simon Says Stamp “Soaring for You” stamp set, onto a piece of watercolor paper. The inks I chose were Worn Lipstick, Audrey Blue, and Lavender.
I stamped all the clouds until I reached the bottom of the panel, where I then switched to some Green Apple ink, and stamped the clouds in an overlapping pattern to create some tree tops. I love turning a stamp into something completely different!
Once all the stamping was complete, I misted the entire panel with some water, blotted up some of the ink for a more pastel look, and then dried the panel with my heat gun. I also flicked on some Green Apple ink splatters as well, to create the illusion of leaves. For an extra touch, I also scored a frame around the panel, just to help finish it off.
Onto a vellum banner, I also stamped the sentiment ‘wish big’, also from the “Storybook” set. The banner is layered behind my hedgehog, and both the hedgehog and the birds are adhered to my background panel using foam tape.
Putting the card together, I layered the background panel onto a white scalloped cardstock panel, and then adhered both pieces to my white, A2 card base using some more foam tape. I also applied some Wink of Stella glitter to portions of my card, as well as some Glossy Accents over the balloon and the eyes of all the critters.
I absolutely love the soft, spring-like feel of this card, and the whimsical hedgehog is just too adorable! I hope you’ve enjoyed… thanks so much for stopping by!
This card is submitted into the Simon Says Stamp “One Stamp Many Ways” Monday challenge, the ColourQ color challenge #284, and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge #15 “Springtime/Easter”.
