Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Washi Tape Sun Catchers
I am sharing a new DIY paper crafting project in celebration of National Craft Month! Have you ever noticed how pretty washi tape looks when light shines through it? It’s gorgeous effect! This made me think; how awesome would washi tape look as a DIY sun catcher? In a word, pretty!
I had a blast making these and really, you just need a few simple supplies I bet you already have on hand:
I want to mention the heat resistant acetate/window plastic specifically. Ordinary clear plastic sheets could potentially warp from the heat of the sun filtering through the sun catchers. Heat resistant will be able to withstand the heat and should not warp. I’ve had one of these sun catchers hanging in my window for about a month now and it gets direct sunlight every day from morning until late afternoon. I had used the heat resistant acetate to make that sun catcher and it has not warped at all.
These are so much fun to make and SO easy (plus a great washi tape stash-buster!). You definitely will want to watch the video to see how I made these cuties!
Thanks so much for tuning in today; I’ll be back later this week with more inspiration for you!
