Layered Florals Shaker + Reverse Confetti Sneak Peek

Well hello there everyone! I am back again sharing a card as a guest designer for Reverse Confetti’s release week sneak peeks! Toady’s sneak peek is showcasing the sweet Flowers for Mom die set, used to create a fun shaker card!

I love shaker cards; they add such a great interactive element to a card, making it even more fun for the recipient! I layered up the flower die included in the set to create dimensional embellishments flanking my shaker.

When designing this card, I knew I wanted the flowers to have a watercolor appearance. While I could have die cut each flower from watercolor paper and then added the paints onto each one individually, that would have taken a lot more time. So instead, I watercolored a two large panels to create custom paper; one watercolored with pinks, oranges and yellows, the other in greens and yellows.

Once I had the panels watercolored, I took my flower and leaf dies included in the Flowers for Mom set, and die cut quite a few of each from the papers. While I was doing my die cutting, I also created the window for my shaker.

The Flowers for Mom die set also contains some fun circle dies as well; I used both the pierced circle die and the pinked-edge circle to create the interlocking window you see for my shaker. I like the way it created a different feel to the shaker window, rather than just a plain circle!

The shaker elements are sequins and confetti from Pretty Pink Posh; I used Fairytale Fuchsia 6mm, Gold stars, Lime Sorbet 4mm, Pink Blush 4mm, Sparkling Clear mix and Iridescent heart confetti.

Finally, I added a vellum banner across the middle of the shaker window and die cut the word “mom” from the same watercolored panel I used to create the flowers. I applied Glossy Accents over top of it to give the sentiment a more dimensional look.
