Light It Up for Autism Awareness Blog Hop
Hello, so glad you’ve stopped by, as I am taking part in the “Light It Up for Autism Awareness” blog hop, which is put together by Veronica Zalis and Tenia Nelson, and sponsered by many wonderful companies and individuals. For my project, I wanted to create a friendship themed card, with two buddies huddled together under an umbrella… keeping one another dry from the rain, just like good friends do! :)
I began by stamping the fox and skunk from the Lawn Fawn “Into the Woods” stamp set, as well as the umbrella from the Avery Elle “Weather It” set, onto some watercolor paper; the critters were stamped with StazOn ink, while the umbrella was stamped in Versamark ink and clear heat embossed.
I watercolored the images with my Derwent watercolor pencils, added some white details with a white paint pen and applied some Glossy Accents to the eyes and noses of the critters, before cutting all the images out with some fine tip scissors.
I cut a piece of white cardstock down to 4″ by 5 1/4″ and stamped my sentiment from the Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings” stamp set with black ink. I then stamped over it with some Versamark, at a slight offset, and clear heat embossed it to create a “shadowed” effect.
The raindrops are stamped with the raindrop image from the Lawn Fawn “Hello Sunshine” stamp set using some teal ink. I then covered each individual raindrop with Wink of Stella glitter and Glossy Accents, as I love how Glossy Accents reminds me of water.
My critters and umbrella are adhered onto my background panel with foam tape, and the background panel is layered onto a piece of Audrey Blue cardstock and then my A2 card base.

Adorable card, as I looked at your card it reminded me of something my daughter said yesterday, she has a Welleness center and offers Zumba for kids on Saturdays, One little girl has Autism and the other younger sones help her along with steps, accepts her and makes her feel “normal” and miss her when she is not there. All the beautiful cards that have been made for this hop are awesome.
