No Line Watercolor [Featuring Altenew & The Daily Marker Watercolor Therapy Blog Hop & Giveaway]
Watercoloring really is therapy and I find such joy in coloring. That’s why I am thrilled to be partaking in Altenew and the Daily Marker’s Watercolor Therapy blog hop. You should have arrived from Jaycee Gaspar’s blog.
My sweet friend, Kathy Racoosin is celebrating her 16th coloring challenge right now; can you believe that?? I love her challenges and the way they encourage us all to try to color – even for just 5 minutes – every day. Here’s Kathy and I at Creativation earlier this year – feels like such a long time ago!
So let’s talk about the project I created for this fun hop…
I colored these flowers during some crafty time with a few of my friends (including Kathy herself!); we had a Zoom call and hung out for a while, each of us doing something creative. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the company as I colored.
The florals are from the Perfectly Perfect and the Beautiful Day stamp sets and I stamped them with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Using Altenew’s Watercolor Pan Set, I colored the images in a no-line style. For interest and texture I made sure to add splatter with my watercolors after the coloring was dry.
Arranging the florals was fun; using foam tape, I layered them along the top and bottom of the card. This frames the sentiment in the center and creates a focal point. My greeting is from the Script Words 2 die set from Altenew, which I cut from Rose Gold mirror cardstock. I also made a DIY shadow from vellum to give a little separation between the sentiment and the florals.
Finally, I embellished the card with just a few Moonshine sequins from Simon Says Stamp.
I’ve been on a no-line watercoloring kick of late; the relaxing effect coloring has really helps relieve stress. I’ll admit, no-line coloring can take a bit more time to do versus coloring with darker outlines, but I encourage you to embrace the slower pace! Even if it takes you a while to complete your coloring, I think you’ll find the activity very therapeutic and rewarding!

Pretty picture on your blog. I love your thank you card. You are so very talented. Love the colors!
I love how you used splatters to add texture.
Very pretty, love the deep rich colors!
Beautiful card! Love the vintage look and the sequins are a nice finishing touch
Lovely work if art! It reminds me of some coloring done by Stacey at SMS using her marker tip to put dots on the flowers. Or was it Jennifer McGuire?
Beautiful coloring…Love your card!!
Beautiful card! Love the gorgeous flowers and the pretty ‘thanks’ sentiment die!
Beautiful water colouring, love this card.
Hanging out on Zoom and watercoloring takes some talent. I fit in the “Can’t walk and chew gum at the same time” talent level and would never be looking up.
How fun! To hang out with your friends and colour/paint all at the same time! Your water colouring is amazing.

This is just wonderful! I want to watercolor better, and this is so inspiring! Thank you!
Your card is gorgeous. I love the look of no-line watercoloring, but I’ve been afraid to try it. I finally bought some Antique Linen Distress Ink and I’m determined to give it a try. That’s going to be my goal this week — you’ve inspired me!
Super beautiful card! Love the colors and the coloring! <3
Right now, no line watercoloring is much too advanced for me, but this blog has me revved up and wanting to play instead of work (essential worker) or cook or clean up. Thanks for showing your technique– really love the white spattering! Makes it seem like early morning dew.
