Glittery Christmas Card + Turnabout Stamping

Hello creative friends! I am so excited to be back with you again and sharing some inspiration using a mix of festive holiday products, plus some Tonic Studios Nuvo glitter and tools.

Glittery Christmas Card + Turnabout Stamping

Speaking of Tonic Studios, they are hosting a super fun, month-long celebration of their popular Nuvo product line, on Instagram (fittingly dubbed “Nuvember”)! Every day during the month of November, Tonic has many talented designers featuring a Nuvo product.

Today I am showcasing some of their Pure Sheen glitters, plus one of my most-favorite tools; the Surface Sweep Brush.

Before I get into today’s project that I made, I thought I would first tell you why I love this brush so much! The Surface Sweep Brush is a wide, soft bristle brush that is really handy for dusting glitter off your workspace.

However, because of its gentleness, the Surface Sweep is also extremely handy for dusting excess glitter or powders off your cards. When working with glitter, sometimes we knock it onto areas of our cards that it does not belong. The brush gently takes the glitter off your projects without harming the embellishments and details you have already on the card. I really do use this tool all the time!

Okay! Now let’s jump into the actual card project for today! I recently attended my friend Jenn Shurkus’ Creative Journey Art Retreat for a weekend of relaxing crafty time with my best friend Ellen Haxelmans (from Belgium!).

While I was at the retreat, I had a chance to play with the Concord and 9th Snowflakes Turnabout stamp set. I fell head-over-heels in love with it, so I bought the set and brought it home with me to play with! I made lots of cards with it, which I will be sharing soon. This background of mint, gold, pink and red snowflakes was one of those cards!

After stamping the background, I die cut letters from adhesive paper (attached to red and white cardstocks) using the Altenew Bold Caps Alphabet set.

Those letters – with the help of the adhesive sheets – are covered with red and gold Tonic Studios Nuvo Pure Sheen glitter. Don’t you just love the shine? The Surface Sweep Brush helped me dust off excess glitter from the card.

To finish off this classy design, I white embossed a greeting from the Impression Obsession Penguins Skating stamp set onto Slate cardstock.  To draw out the red in the background, I used Schoolhouse Red cardstock as the card base.

I really love how this simple card carries such a festive and elegant feel with the colors and glitter! I hope you love it as much as I do, and that it inspires you to create something like this on your own for the holidays!

Thank you so much for joining me and I hope you will stop back again soon for more inspiration!
