Today’s card features the adorable STAMPtember® exclusive Right Meow kitties, the uplifing Great Things sentiments and the Mod Stripe stencil! In the video below, I will show you how I used Nuvo Shimmer Powders to make a watercolor backgrounds that have stenciled, DIY glitter paste applied over them. This technique is super fun and I hope you enjoy trying it too!

On the card featuring the cute kitties, I used the Solar Flare, Atlantis Burst, Cherry Bomb and Blue Blitz colors to create a bright rainbow effect. I then applied my DIY glitter paste over the background using the Mod Stripe stencil. The glitter in my DIY paste is from Tonic Studios’ Nuvo Diamond Pure Sheen Glitter bottle.

Using the Great Things sentiments from CZ Design’s latest stamp set for Simon, I stamped the word believin’ in Hot Mama ink; the sentiment is also cut using the coordinating dies. Speaking of dies, I created supporting sentiments; they are stamped with the Great Things set, and I cut them into perfect banners using the new Sentiment Labels die set I designed for Simon! These dies are something I have wanted for so long and I am SO thrilled they are finally released, as they are extremely handy.

I also added some of the kitties from the Right Meow stamp set onto my card; each are colored with Copic markers, using very simple blending since the images are quite small.

To finish off the card, I added a sprinkling of sequins and stars onto the card with the new Birthday Cake and Party Time mixes from Simon’s STAMPtember® release!

I had so much fun creating these DIY glitter paste backgrounds, I made a couple more backgrounds that I hope to turn into cards soon!

This first one uses the Cherry Bomb and Solar Flare Shimmer Powders and I brushed them across some watercolor paper. After it dried, I used the als0-new Harvest stencil from Simon and paste made with Candy Pink Pure Sheen Glitter from Tonic Studios.

The second background features an older stencil from Simon called, Carolyn. I made my background with Blue Blitz, Cherry Bomb and Violet Brocade Shimmer Powders. Over the background I applied paste with Purple Organza Pure Sheen Glitter mixed in.
