Hello everyone! I am stopping by very quick with a simple card to share featuring the brand new Simon Says Stamp May 2018 Card Kit called, Kind Heart!

I just got the kit and didn’t have time to make a full tutorial and kit walkthrough as I normally do because I am currently traveling. Before I left on my travels, I did create a very simple and pretty card using my brand new Take Heart mini stamp set that is included in the May Card Kit!  There are actually two sets in this kit; the other is the large 6×8 Everything Together set, which Kristina Werner designed.

A little backstory for you! The idea for the floral inside the cup and hummingbird stemmed from my great-grandmother, who is in her mid 90’s, yet loves to do little arts and crafts projects. One of her favorite projects to make are sweet little teacup floral arrangements. She takes old teacups, along with bits and pieces of florals, embellishments like butterflies or birds, and other found objects; then everything is assembled into cute cups for a sort of “terrarium” effect. It’s really awesome to see her create these decor pieces and have fun crafting!

I watercolored the florals using watercolors from a couple of Prima palettes; Essence and Pastel Dreams. I love the colors inside Prima’s watercolor palettes!

To pull the card together, I used one of the pretty patterned papers from PinkFresh Studio’s Let Your Heart Decide collection; I added a few splatters of black paint onto the paper for a bit of texture. This card is a bit different in shape compared to standard A2 card sizes; this is about 4 x 6 inches in size. I also added a couple of the puffy heart and bow stickers (also part of the Let Your Heart Decide collection) around my black stamped greeting, as well as on the handle of the cup.

That lovely script is from Kristina’s Everything Together set; I loved how bold and beautiful it is standing off of the coral stripes! Finally for a bit of final embellishing, I added a bit of hemp to the top of the card.
