Shaped Mini Valentine

Hello there everyone! I am so glad you’ve stopped by for some fun Valentine’s Day inspiration using Newton’s Nook stamps and dies!

Today I am featuring the new Darling Duos stamps which are from the newest release from Newton’s Nook Designs. I just love the little dogs that are included in the set, and I’ve colored them to look like little dachshunds. For the coloring I picked out my favorite medium, Copic markers; the colors I used are:

• N5, N7, N9, E50, E31, E33 and E35 for the dog’s bodies

• E37 and E49 for their noses

• B000, BG01, B02 for the blue collar and R22, R37, R59 for the red collar; Y00, Y18, Y28 for the dog tag

Once the images were colored, I fussy cut them out and layered them onto two die cut hearts. The hearts are die cut from a Memory Box Stitched Hearts set, and the biggest heart is embossed with a WPlus9 cover plate. I colored the raised areas of the red heart using my R59 Copic.

To create the shaped card, I die cut the red heart twice and layered them together; the heart in the back has a score line across the top of it which allows the card to open. The adhesive was added above the score line so that the front red heart could adhere to it.

My sentiment is from the same Darling Duos stamp set and I also added a few Marshmallow Pretty Pink Posh sequins around the front of the card to add some embellishing.

However, this little Valentine wasn’t complete until I created a matching envelope to go with it! I used my 1-2-3 We R Memory Keepers punch board to create a 4X4 envelope (made from pink cardstock), and then stamped some of the solid hearts included in the Darling Duos stamp sets. Isn’t it a perfect fit for the finished card??
