Just Sayin’ Thank You

Hello! It’s been almost a week since I have shared a card with you, but I am back today to show you a fun card I created using a stencil and some watercolors.

I love stencils; they are so versatile in so many ways and can be use with just about any medium. For today’s card, I chose to work with the Dotlets stencil by Penny Black Inc., as I thought the fun and playful polka dots would make a really awesome watercolored background.

I started off by laying the stencil over a piece of watercolor paper and tracing all the circles with a pencil. I erased all of the pencil marks until they were just barely visible, and began watercoloring them in with three different shades of Derwent watercolor pencils; pink, orange and yellow.

After all my circle were colored in, I applied some Wink of Stella clear glitter over top each one, as I wanted to make the dots shimmer.

My sentiment is built from two stamp sets; the Unforgettable stamp set by WPlus9, and the brand new Bella Letters stamp set from Mama Elephant; everything is stamped in Memento ink.

I then scored a frame around the edges of the panel, and attached it to my A2 card base with foam tape. My card base is covered in Wink of Stella glitter, and I attached sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and the Ton.
