Saying Thanks in Style

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a feminine thank you card, perfect for sending to your favorite friend with a flair for “style”… and speaking of style, I was inspired by CASology’s newest challenge, fittingly titled “style”, to create this card.

I thought an embellished dress would be a really fun way to incorporate a chic look to a thank you card, and found that the “Dress and Mannequin” digi stamp set was perfect for what I had in mind.

Thanks In Style_2

I began creating my card by printing the dress out twice onto some patterned paper from the Recollections “Painted Fancy” paper collection and fussy cutting the two out. On the second dress, I cut along the folds of the dress and adhered this dress onto the first one. When adhering the two dresses together, I applied regular adhesive to the top portion and to every other fold of the dress, while putting some foam tape under the remaining folds. This creates a layered and more “alive” look. I also wrapped some pink ribbon around the waist and adhered a sparkly gem to the neckline.

The card is 5 1/2″ square, made from black cardstock. I’ve layered both a white and black cardstock panel on top using foam tape, and covered the card base with Wink of Stella glitter.

My dress is layered onto the white panel at a slight angle with foam tape, and I’ve scattered some gems around the dress as well, for a bit of interest.

The word “thanks” is die cut four times from black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo and the font “Halo Handletter”. I layered the four die cut words together for some dimension, adhered the entire piece to my card and covered it with some Wink of Stella glitter.

And that finishes off my take on the word “style”! I hope you’ve enjoyed and I am so happy you’ve stopped by! :)

Challenges

This card is submitted into the CASology week 139 “Style” challenge, the Time Out challenge #27 “CAS: Black and White with a splash of color”, and the Simon Says Stamp “Anything Goes” Wednesday challenge.

Not only is this card stunning and stylish, but I need this dress. Have been prom dress shopping with my daughter, and if this were only about 100 times larger, she would be the best dressed girl at the dance. Thanks so much for playing along with us at CASology this week.
