Brush Stroke Watercoloring

Hello and Happy Saturday!

Today I have a clean and simple, artistic-style card to share with you, using a brushstroke watercoloring technique.

To create my card, I cut an A2 watercolor card base and stamped the clouds and hearts from the Lawn Fawn “Blue Skies” stamp set with StazOn Jet Black ink. Using the “Milo’s ABC’s” stamp set, and StazOn ink, I also stamped the sentiment “hello” on the bottom right of my card.

To watercolor my images, I used some Tim Holtz distress inks; Dusty Concord, Worn Lipstick, and Spiced Marmalade. I was going for a “brushstroke” look for this card; very loose and “artsy”. I used a medium sized barrel paint brush and swiped the colors across the clouds, and loosely painted the hearts.

With some clean water, I spritzed on some water spots and dried them. Then, taking the Dusty Concord and Spiced Marmalade, I flicked on some ink splatters for some added interest.

Finally, I finished off my card with some Wink of Stella glitter applied over the top of the clouds and hearts, and a bit of purple twine tied around the top of the card.
