2 Ways! Layered Ink Blending + Edge to Edge Shaker Cards

Lately one of my favorite types of cards to make are edge to edge shakers. In this video, I’m stepping up my shaker cards to feature some layered ink blended backgrounds that I made using products from Simon Says Stamp’s new Good Luck Charm release.

The first card features two new stencil sets from Simon; Layered Confetti and Interlocking Circles. For the ink blending, I used a combination of Simon’s Pawsitively Saturated inks in Peony, Tidepool, Sprout, and Sunbeam. I also used White Pigment Ink and Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel to add additional layers to the blending.

The ink blended background was placed inside a pocket of plastic to create an edge to edge shaker; I filled the shaker with new sequins from Simon’s End of the Rainbow mix. On top of the shaker is the Balloon background die that I cut from white cardstock. Finishing things off, I added a black glitter sentiment with a vellum shadow layer, and that was created with the Basic Box Card Happy Birthday die set.

I made a second edge to edge shaker in a very similar fashion, but with a few tweaks! For the ink blending, I used the same colors but I only used the Layered Confetti stencils this time. Inside the shaker I used Holographic Rainbows sequin mix.

The final tweak to the design was using Simon’s new Black Glossy Cardstock for the die cut Happy Birthday sentiment. To make the greeting even more beautiful, I sprayed it with Glitter Dust from Therm O Web. I love how the clear glitter adds sparkle to the glossy sentiment!
