Recycled Wrapping Paper and Tags + Simon’s DieCember® Hop!

Recently I was looking at the stack of paper grocery bags destined for the recycle bin and thought to myself – what could I repurpose these into? Immediately I thought of my favorite style of wrapping paper, red and white on kraft! This project was so much fun to put together; I used the Prismatic Snowflakes stamp and dies from Simon Says Stamp’s DieCember® release to make the paper and matching tags!
To make the wrapping paper, I cut the paper bags open and into squares, stamping and stenciling patterns onto them. The snowflake pattern was stamped with the Prismatic Snowflakes set and I blended the polka dots with the I Like Big Dots stencil from Simon. Both patterns use Festive Berries Distress Oxide inks.
I embossed the tags on festive cardstock colors and added twine to each. I cannot wait to wrap some of my Christmas gifts with this DIY wrapping paper!
If you try this technique, would you do red and white colors? Or would you create a different holiday color combo? Let me know in the comments!
