3 Cards for Mom + Simon’s Sunny Days Ahead Hop!
There is always a good excuse to send our mom’s a card and today I have 3 to inspire you using the new Simon Says Stamp Sunny Days Ahead collection!
Today’s post is part of a special Simon Says Stamp blog hop, which you can find details for at the bottom of this post.
I illustrated the new, A Mama’s Love stamp set for the release and it was one that I was excited to create with. The scene I designed with the set is created to look like my mom and her four kids (myself, two sisters and brother). I want to make more of these for some other mamas I know who would love to have a custom card featuring themselves with their kids.
The card is embellished with a few die cut hearts, Moonshine sequins and cute patterned paper from the Echo Park I am Mom collection on the card base.
Word dies can be used in ways beyond just sentiments! Have you ever tried using a word die as the focal design of the card? By stacking the new Outline Mama down my card front, I have a series of fun shaker windows that also make for a great focal point!
Behind the shaker window, is a piece of the Cottage Meadow Memory Box patterned paper; the shaker bits consist of Iridescent Confetti and Garden Flower Snowdrops sequins. The holographic shimmer looks so pretty!
Each of the Outline Mama die cuts are made with Simon Says Stamp glitter cardstock, and I added a Mom Days reverse sentiment strip in between the bottom two mamas. Finally, a small die cut heart with glitter glue added on top finished up the card.
For the last card I created, I challenged myself to use up some scraps that I had in my remnants drawer!
The new Outline Mom die added a bold greeting to this colorful design! I layered a few bright hearts onto a piece of patterned paper, and embossed a sentiment from A Mama’s Love to add underneath the main greeting. For a final finishing touch, I adhered some Sparkling Clear sequins onto the card.
I hope all of these cards have inspired you to make some cards for your mom! Even though I used a Mother’s Day greeting on the first card, you could easily change the sentiment and make that card for any time of year.
