Letterpress Foil and Watercolor Die Cuts
Hello friends! I am thrilled to be sharing some inspiration with you featuring new Spellbinders dies and foil plates!
Today’s post is also part of the Spellbinders Holiday Collection blog hop! If you have already been hopping along with us, you should have arrived from Karin Akesdotter’s blog. All the hop details are at the bottom of this post.
The new Laurel and Bows embossing folder is a gorgeous frame of winter foliage and elegant swirls, which I thought would look beautiful behind a wreath. Using my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine and some Champagne foil, I foiled the embossing folder’s design into some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. Because this design is an embossing folder, it not only foils the pattern but also embosses it too, creating a faux letterpress effect!
To create the festive wreath around the center of the Laurel and Bows embossing folder, I started by watercoloring a red, green, golden yellow and dusty turquoise colored panels. Once those panels dried, I die cut them with the dies in the new Ornament foil plate and die set. Those floral die cuts were then arranged around the center of the panel, along with some Simon Says Stamp Gala and Star Spangled sequins. In the center of the poinsettias I added dots of Nuvo Dream Drops for some dimension and shine.
To finish off the card, I white embossed a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s Comfort and Joy stamp set and layered the greeting between the foliage in the wreath.
I hope today’s card has inspired you with ideas on how to use some of these gorgeous new dies and foiling products from Spellbinders! Thanks for visiting me today; I will be back again soon with more to share!
