No Line Underpainting with Simon’s Fresh Bloom Release + Blog Hop!
Hello friends! Welcome to the next stop along Simon Says Stamp’s Fresh Bloom release blog hop! Today I am featuring an underpainting watercolor technique (with a video!) using the Blossoming stamp set I designed for Simon.

When I designed the Blossoming stamp set, I wanted something that would look beautiful both stamped as an outline, or colored in a “no line” effect. Today I opted to color in the stamp with a no-line technique, with underpainting.
Underpainting involves creating a subtle layer of color, and then proceeding to watercolor your scene overtop of the first paint layer. The layer underneath alters the color tone of the watercolors added on top, which provides a lot of unique interest and depth.

After coloring the tree, I mounted the panel onto a Desert Storm card base.
The scene is embellished with Vintage Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios in between the leaves, and a length of Lawn Trimmings twine tied across the top. I embossed and stamped sentiments using the Blossoming stamp set.
