Altenew’s Zinnia Build-A-Flower Inspiration + Hop
Hello crafty friends! The new Altenew Build-A-Flower release features a beautiful Zinnia floral, which I used today with a couple of other Altenew sets to create a pretty arrangement. The Zinnia is a layering set, and quite easy to put together!
The stamps come with a pamphlet that shows you the step by step instructions for building the Zinnia with the layering images.
The other stamps I used were the Hope set (for the large, green leaves), and I stamped additional leaves with the Wildflower Garden set. The ink colors I used were Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, Watermelon and Crimson for the Zinnia. The largest leaves are stamped with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen. The florals that I filled in the arrangement with are stamped in Thistle, Watermelon, Frayed Leaf, and Cotton Candy.
The sentiments are from the Build-A-Flower Zinnia set, and are both embossed with gold and white embossing powders from Brutus Monroe. Around the sentiments, I added sequins from Simon’s Butterfly Kisses mix.
I wanted to add some texture to the card base, so I ran it through my die cutting machine using the Spring Shower cover plate die as an “embossing folder”. I love how the dry embossed effect brings interest to the card, without distracting from the beautiful floral arrangement.
I hope that you are inspired by today’s card using the new, Altenew Build-a-Flower Zinnia stamp set! Today’s project is also part of a celebratory blog hop, so be sure to hop along and see additional inspiration using this gorgeous, new set!
Thanks so much for visiting me today!

This is such a pretty flower with so much dimension. Love It! Thanks for the beautiful inspiration!
This is super pretty! :)
This is a stunning card! Love that you added additional florals and leaves from other stamp sets. The dry embossed background is beautiful, as well.
beautiful, Nina! luv the addition of textured background
Beautiful! Love the combination of the colours you used. I’m a big fan of embossing folders/plates for the exact reason you mentioned here- they add texture and interest without distracting from the main image.
I love how delicate the whole thing looks with the cover plate embossed on the back. That just gives the whole card a lacy feel. Thanks for sharing with us!
Gorgeous card, Nina. I love the style and the colors. The zinnia is beautiful.
Beautiful card as always.
This is one of my favorite cards! You are so talented! Beautiful card!
