Good Vibes Release Blog Hop Inspiration!
Hello crafters! Welcome to my stop in the Simon Says Stamp, Good Vibes release blog hop! This blog hop spans two days, so you’ll want to visit Simon’s blog tomorrow for all the details on the second hop!
If you have already been hopping along, you should have arrived from the ever-amazing Nichol Spohr’s blog! Simon is spreading lots of good vibes this weekend by giving away a special, free gift on ANY order purchased now through Sunday, June 24th at 11:59 pm eastern. Use code PUFFY at checkout for the free gift!
The first card I wanted to share with you today features many of the new Good Vibes products! The little girl holding the flower is from one of the Good Vibes Suzy’s Watercolor Prints; I watercolored her with Prima watercolors. Isn’t she cute??
Simon’s new, Big Friend sentiment die was the PERFECT greeting to pair with this card. I love that there is an outline to go with this die; it makes popping the die cut up with foam tape SO much easier!
Finally, my most-favorite part of this card is the foiled background. This was created with the new Debra die, the Go Press and Foil machine from Couture Creations, and one of their pretty foils! You can see how I created this gorgeous, foiled effect by watching the video at the top of this post.
|
That foiling effect was so much fun, I made a second card using the Debra die! This time I used silver Couture Creations foil and blue cardstock. The result is so striking!
I die cut some of the new CZ Design Everett Solid Letters from Tonic Studios Chrome Silver mirror cardstock; but instead of using the “o” in “you”, I replaced it with a heart. The pretty heart is cut from Silky Sky mirror cardstock, with a layer of Glossy Accents over it. However, I didn’t stop there! While the Glossy Accents was still wet, I sprinkled Lawn Fawn Prisma glitter into the heart … and OH MY GOODNESS do I love the shimmery effect when it dries!!!
|
Speaking of shimmer; check out that puppy in the flamingo-floatie!! I need sunglasses like his (actually, I personally have rainbow sunglasses that I love even more, haha!). These adorable critters are from the new, Summer Cuddly Critters set. I colored most of the images in the set with Copics and on many of the images, I added Glossy Accents for dimension. The dog’s glittery shades has a layer of Sakura Clear Glitter pen applied to them.
The animals are arranged into a sweet scene, built with lots of fun dies! The sky was cut with Simon’s Picture Book Sky die. To create the sand and surf, I used Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Wave and Stitched Hillside border die sets; each die cut I embellished with a white Signo gel pen.
For additional color, I covered my card base with a bit of Lawn Fawn’s Really Rainbow patterned paper, and placed dots of Nuvo Morning Dew Drops around the scene to create the appearance of bubbles! Looking at these critters makes me want to be in a tropical climate right now!

My final card for today uses a couple of the newest die sets that I designed! That big, Good Vibes greeting exudes that classic, retro feel and paired perfectly with the Bicycle die! I had a blast designing these products and using them in this card; I hope you love them!
I die cut each of these dies from a bunch of happy cardstock colors. Behind the dies is a sky that I ink blended with Simon’s Clouds for Days stencil; that stencil is so versatile for scene building. I need to get the Grassy Edges stencil, because that would have worked perfectly on this card. Instead, I substituted it for the Grassy Hills dies from My Favorite Things.
I embellished the scene further by adding some hearts and Flickering Butterflies mixed here and there between the main dies. Little accents like this make a big difference in your designs! My white card base even has a bit of subtle texture (another small, but important detail!), which I created with the new Center Cut Geometric Pattern stamp.
