2 Ways to Use a Stencil + Simon’s Sending Sunshine Blog Hop!
Hello crafters! Have you been enjoying the Simon Says Stamp Sending Sunshine release blog hop so far? You should have arrived from the talented, Amanda Korotkova’s blog! If you are just joining in, you can reference the entire hop order below!
For my inspiration today, I created two cards using the new, Leafy Frame stencil I designed for the release! In the video above, I will show you how I made this cute scene, which also incorporates the darling monkeys from the Hello There stamp set!
Those darling monkeys make me smile! Aren’t they cute? I thought it would be fun to have three of them hanging from some vines… the Heart Stream die worked perfect for that!
There are some fun greetings in the also-new Playful Messages stamp set; I used one of them here, paired with a “holla” greeting from Hello There!
Be sure to watch the video above to see how this whole card came together! The supplies I used can be found below:

The monkey card utilizes the stenciled leaves as a silhouette… but I envisioned this stencil being able to be used for coloring, too! In this card, I blended a bit of light blue around the leaves, which left white, negative silhouettes behind. This is perfect for bringing in your favorite medium and add coloring exactly as you’d like! Here I did some Copic and colored pencil detailing.
The beautiful sentiment I stamped in the center of these tropical leaves is from the new CZ Designs Love You Like stamp set. I also accented the backgrund with sequins from the new Pool Party mix and vellum butterflies (cut with the previously-released Flickering Butterflies die set from Simon).
Both of these cards that feature the Leafy Frame stencil perfectly illustrate how you can achieve a wide spectrum of styles (anything from cute to realistic). I hope you love working with this new product, and the entire Sending Sunshine release!
