Coloring on Patterned Paper + Simon’s June 2018 Card Kit
Hello crafters! Have you seen the latest monthly card kit from Simon Says Stamp, Fly Me Away? It is a beauty! I had a lot of fun making the card you see here, using many of the kit contents, including: florals and sentiments from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set, some of the ModaScrap paper, and the Gold Pearl mirror card from Tonic Studios!
To create my card, I used an under-lay technique, similar to that which I use with watercolor. However, this card uses absolutely no watercolor, but instead was created by using Copics over one of the subtle ModaScrap papers!
There are many sentiments included in the Beautiful Flowers stamp set. I pieced quite a few of them together to create a unique, birthday greeting, which was embossed in Antique Gold powder from Simon. The pretty die cut that the sentiment is stamped on was from Studio Katia’s Dotted Patterns Scallop set.
I hope you will be checking out the video at the top of this post to see how I created this pretty effect, using the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit, Fly Me Away! I’m so glad you stopped by to visit; be sure to come by this week, as I will have LOADS of inspiration for you using Simon’s upcoming Sending Sunshine release, plus additional card projects I’ve been working on!
See you soon and Happy Monday!

What a great idea! I have embellished pre-printed things to use on cards, but it never occurred to me to “re-color” an element. Now I will be looking at patterned papers differently when I see them—can I add more color to these images? Thank you for a great idea.
These flowers are gorgeous, your colouring is great and your card is fantastic ! Congrats :)
Nina, this is truly a stunner of a card! Simply gorgeous!
This is a great kit but I have to admit, this stamp set is my fave part of it!
Beautiful card, Nina!
