Hello everyone! Have you heard about Altenew’s Celebrating Parents Card Drive that they have been hosting over the past month? Altenew’s goal is to collect and send cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes or shelters to let them know they’re not forgotten. Be sure to check out the Celebrating Parents Card Drive and join this great cause by sending in cards YOU have made! You have until April 30th to send cards in for the drive.
Altenew is making things even more fun by hosting a special Celebrating Parents blog hop, which I am honored to be guesting in. If you have already been hopping along, you should have arrived from my friend Barb Engler’s blog!
For my project today, I made a Father’s Day card using the Altenew Flat and Fold Alphas die set, along with stamps from their Best Dad and Snapshot sets. My idea was to pair these sets with Distress Oxide inks and Prima Pastel Metallic Accents for a metallic watercolor effect. If you watch the video at the top of this post, you’ll see how I created this fun, shiny effect!
I added details to the card with some black ink splatters and a Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplet over part of the camera. You’ll also notice I used a Fog gray cardstock card base behind my finished panel, as that gray complements the shading in the camera and makes the white areas really pop!
Be sure to check out the video to see this entire card come together! You can find all the supplies I used below, plus further down are the details about the Celebrating Parents blog hop!
Thanks for stopping by today to visit! I will be back again soon with more inspiration for you!
There is so much more to see in this Celebrating Parents blog hop! Your next stop is Enza Gudor. You can also find the entire hop order below:
Nina-Marie Trapani – you are here! :)
Altenew is giving away $50 gift certificates to THREE lucky winners. Be sure to leave comments by May 6th at 11:59 PM EDT for a chance to win!
