Neat & Tangled Release Week: Day 1

Hi friends! Today is the first day of Neat & Tangled’s October release week and I am excited to be showcasing one of the new sets that is being revealed today called Into the Woods!

The images in this stamp set are ADORABLE! I couldn’t wait to ink them up and color them in!

I stamped all the images onto Canson watercolor paper and used my Zig Clean Color markers to watercolor them in. There are coordinating dies for these images, which is what I used to cut them out.

I wanted to create a scene for the critters, so I paired them up with tree images from Neat & Tangled’s Lumberjack Love stamp and die sets, as well as a grass border die from My Favorite Things. All of these pieces were colored with Zig markers as well.

The fun scallop  you see around the edges of the card are also a brand new die set from Neat & Tangled, fittingly called “Scalloped”. The die set features multiple scallop-edge rectangle dies, as well as fun banner shapes! I’ll be sharing some more cards later this week featuring the dies.

To embellish the card, I used some of the leaves from the Into the Woods stamp set and added a bit of Nuvo Crystal Drops (color was Copper Penny) around the leaves as well.

I finished off the card by creating a card base from Burnt Orange Simon Says Stamp cardstock and ink blending Rusty Hinge Distress Ink through the Neat & Tangled Parquet stencil. The subtle tone-on-tone effect adds just enough interest to the card without being distracting.

I hope today’s card was inspiring for you and that you’ll stop back again tomorrow (and all week long!) for more fun featuring Neat & Tangled’s new release!!
