Die Cut Foiled Snowflake Background

Well hello everyone! Today I have a pretty card to share with you featuring a lot of die cutting using new products from Simon Says Stamp’s recent Create Joy release!

I love Christmas, winter and snowflakes, and the cute Stitched Flakes die from Simon Says Stamp is one of my new favorite dies right now! The Blessed word is a great sentiment die to use on so many projects; it can be paired up with stamped sentiments, banners, or just used alone as I have done on this card.

I started off my design by doing some foiling onto some toner paper. I simply printed a full 8.5″ by 11″ black rectangle onto a piece of letter-sized cardstock and then foiled the entire sheet of cardstock with gold foil. After the cardstock was foiled, I die cut both the foiled cardstock and some red cardstock using the Stitched Flakes die (I made the red cardstock by inking white with Festive Berries distress ink, but you could use any red cardstock you prefer).

The Blessed word is die cut from both green and white cardstock and then layered all together; I offset the white words from the green just a bit to create a drop shadow and inked the top portion of the word die with Pine Needles distress ink to give an ombre effect.

I adhered all the snowflakes scattered about the background of my main panel, along with some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment die cut is layered onto some torn vellum I colored with Delicate Golden Glitz ink, and a stitched border die from Pretty Pink Posh.

And of course, I had to add a bit of sparkle and shine, so I used some Wink of Stella clear glitter over top the red snowflakes and a bit of Glossy Accents covering the Blessed die cut.
