Oh Happy Day
Hello! I am back to share a sweet little card featuring stamps from the Lawn Fawn “Hello Sunshine” set… which is an adorable set by the way! So many cute little images, and I particularly love the little birds!
I knew that I was going for a watercolor look on this card, so I cut a piece of watercolor paper to 3 1/4″ by 4 1/2″ and began my stamping… I used a banner stamp from another Lawn Fawn set, “Blue Skies“, and stamped it repeatedly to create a few strings of banners. Using the “Hello Sunshine” set, I then stamped the little birds and the outline heart. All of this initial stamping was done with StazOn Jet Black ink.
Using my Derwent watercolor pencils, I watercolored all of my images in, and the used Peacock Feathers distress ink for watercoloring the sky. I stamped a solid heart from the stamp set with teal ink and also splattered some paint splatters across the sky, to add a bit of interest and texture. Once everything was dry, I stamped and clear heat embossed my sentiment, which is also from the “Hello Sunshine” stamp set.
The dot pattern framing my scene is made from a piece of white cardstock, stamped with a confetti stamp from Paper Smooches, and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then inked the paper with some Worn Lipstick distress ink, and layered some vellum overtop.
Once my card was put together, I tied some light purple ribbon around the card into a knotted bow, and applied Wink of Stella clear glitter to the banners and the heart, and Glossy Accents to the heart and eyes of the birds. Finally, I scattered some iridescent sequins around the card, and this finished it all off!
I love how happy this card is and how it could be used for a variety of occasions, such as a wedding, a congratulations for an engagement or a baby card for the expecting parents-to-be. I hope you’ve enjoyed, and thanks so much for stopping by!
