Happy Wedding

Happy Thursday!

Today I am experimenting with the Altenew “Vintage Roses” stamp set. I absolutely love how detailed these stamps are and how you can create such depth by stamping in different shades of the same color.

I thought these would make a very elegant wedding themed card, and I paired a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches with a color scheme from My Favorite Things newest color challenge to create my design.

I started off by die cutting a frame from the Spellbinders Tranquil Moments die set twice, and an A2 card base from some cream cardstock.  I covered one of the frames with some Wink of Stella gold glitter, and with the second, I fussy cut the inner portion of the frame out. It is on this panel that I did my stamping.

Taking one of the rose sets from the Altenew “Vintage Roses” stamp set, I stamped the images with three shades of purple pigment inks. I then created a mask for the flower and stamped a bunch of leaves around the flower with three shades of green pigment ink. I then added some shading and highlights with a black multiliner, a dark purple colored pencil and a white gel pen.

With my mask for the flower still in place, I inked around the image with some Evergreen Bough distress ink, to create the suggestion of a sky, and then flicked on some ink splatters using that same ink and a wet paintbrush. I also covered the flower and the leaves with some Wink of Stella clear glitter.

For my sentiment I chose to use the “happy wedding” script that is included in the “Vintage Roses” set, and stamped it in some Versamark ink before heat embossing it with Ranger’s Princess Gold embossing powder.

I then tied a green satin ribbon around the bottom portion of the panel, before layering it onto my frame with some foam tape. I then adhered this to my card base with some more foam tape.

Finally, for a few finishing touch, I created a purple envelope using the We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board. I embossed one of the roses and some leaves in the bottom left corner of the envelope, as well as along the edges of the flap.

This card has a very elegant and delicate feel with the beautiful rose stamp and the intricate gold, die cut frame. I love how it turned out! I hope you’ve enjoyed and thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Creating!  :)
