Sunday Spotlight: Getting Creative

Hello Everyone, and welcome back to another Sunday Spotlight!

Hard to believe we’re about to start a new week… and the weather here in the Northeast has been crazy… Yesterday it was freezing and awoke to below zero temps, and today its almost 50 degrees! Go figure!?! :)

When creating this week’s Sunday Spotlight card, I was going a little crazy with my supplies! I love things that are quirky, and started off by cutting a regular A2 sized card, but then took my craft knife and cut off a half an inch on either side of the card base (see picture below).

Once my card base was trimmed, I began my stamping. Since this was an anniversary card, I wanted to use some elegant colors in my palette… I ended up finding I really loved the tones of the metallic gold and silver Sharpie paint pens, so I took those and colored in my stamps before stamping the balloons onto the card. The heart shaped balloons and the sentiment are stamped with Versamark ink and embossed in Stampendous Champagne gold powder. All the stamps used for this card are from the Simon Says Stamp “Celebrate” set; an extremely versatile stamp set that I absolutely adore!

Once my stamping was complete I took a Heidi Swapp lattice stencil covered it in a very thin layer of Ranger Texture paste. Taking a polka dot stencil and applied some Tsukeniko Dew Drop ink direcly onto the stencil.

With a gold and silver gel pens, I added the balloon strings and the border around the card.

I love how the metallic paint stamps so nicely… and the metallic shimmer is so pretty! I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s Sunday Spotlight and will stop back again soon!

Happy Creating!
