Be My Valentine

Hello Everyone!

I am excited to share with you some sweet little Valentine’s today using a variety of stamp sets from Penny Black Inc. Since I have quite I bit to show you, I’m going to keep this post nice and short, and let the pictures do the talking!

For my first card, I used a sweet little hedgehog from the Penny Black “Party Time” set, a heart from the “Critters in Love” set, and the sentiment is from the “Hugs” stamp set. What I love about Penny Black stamps, is that they can be used for a wide variety of themes and topics.

The background is created with a few Tim Holtz distress inks (Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Milled Lavender), and splattered with some Heidi Swapp Gold color shine.

The banner and the scalloped panel behind the front panel, are painted with the same Heidi Swapp color shine… love the shimmery effect! I also created a coordinating envelope using some pale pink patterned paper, and did some doodling with a gold gel pen to tie it all together.

This next card uses a totally “sweet” image from the “Critters in Love” collection. I love the wheelbarrow full of little hearts… how cute is that?? :)

The sentiment is created using the “Sweet” cut file I designed (a free download of the file is available at the bottom of the post!), and the “so”from the Penny Black “Paint the Town” stamp set. Vellum was adhered behind the die cut letters to add a soft tone to the card.

For this next card, I decided to get a bit creative with the shape! I don’t know about you, but I love a card that is a bit “unexpected”…!

While it starts off as cute little a scene in the front… it opens to an entirely new scene on the inside! I cut a piece of watercolor paper at 10 1/2″ inches by 3 1/2″ inches, and scored at 1 3/4″, 3″, 7″ and 8 3/4″, and then carefully planned and stamped my images.

The stamps I used are from the Penny Black “Hugs“, “Critters In Love” and “Paint the Town” stamp sets, as well as with some clouds from the Avery Elle “Weather It” set. I also created the matching envelope out of patterned paper… for all the custom envelopes in this post, I used the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board, which I absolutely love!

And finally, what is Valentine’s day without the quintessential and oh-so-loveable teddy bears!?  This cute little teddy bear is from the “Wishes and Hugs” stamp set from Penny Black. How sweet this little guy is with his little bouquet and shy expression!

The sentiment stamps are all from the “Hugs” stamp set, while the heart is from the “Critters in Love” set. I added Wink of Stella clear glitter to all the flowers and hearts in his bouquet and did some stamping on a white envelope to match the card.

I do hope you’ve enjoyed these little Valentines… Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Creating!
