Newton’s Nook Reveal Day #4
Well hello friends! Welcome back to the final day of the Newton’s Nook June release week! On June 17th all the new stamps and dies will be available for purchase, so be sure to grab your favorites tomorrow morning!
Today we are revealing the super cute Newton’s Support stamp set; this mini set is perfect for sending encouraging cards to family and friends affected by cancer. I wanted to show you how you could use this set to create uplifting cards for all sorts of cancer types.
I created each of these cards exactly the same, but changed the colors to match the cancer types. For all the cards I colored Newton and his ribbons with Zig Clean Color markers; I also created the same layout for each card… I loved the idea of doing some tone-on-tone stamping for the card bases to create custom pattern paper that evoked lots of uplifting and encouraging messages.
For the pink card I used Cotton Candy cardstock and Hollyhock ink (both from Simon Says Stamp).
The blue card is made from a Sea Glass card base and stamped in Maliblue ink (Simon Says Stamp).
And finally the purple card was created from a Lavender card base and stamped with Hydrangea ink (from Simon Says Stamp as well).
On the centers of each ribbon on all three cards I adhered tiny little hearts in coordinating cardstock colors, as I felt this helped embellish the cards a bit more and I love how they match with the ribbons so nicely! I think these cards would be fabulous to send to loved ones battling through a tough illness… something that would surely bring a smile to their face!
