Copic Colored Simon Says Stamp Printables
Hey there friends, happy weekend! Today I have a few cards to share with you that I created with the Simon Says Stamp Every Occassion Notes watercolor printables.
These are fabulous little pre-printed watercolor panels (sized perfect for A2 cards) but I actually used my Copic markers to color them in. You can totally do this, because the printed side of the paper is pretty smooth, which allows the Copics to blend and move across it very easily. The printables come in sets of 12 and there are quite a few different printable sets you can choose from (see them all here). And here is a look at all the printables included in the set that I have:
I ended up trimming the panels down in all of these cards (and I’ll explain each one as I progress through this post), but you could also simply mount them onto the front of an A2 card base and call it done; lots of fun options. I so enjoyed taking my time and coloring these in as I relaxed a bit!
For my first card, I used this cute rose bud cluster; I colored the flowers with R01, R20, R21, R22, R32, R17 and R46.The leaves and grass are done with YG21, YG03, YG23, YG25, YG95 and YG63. I watercolored a loose background using Cracked Pistachio distress ink.
While I loved the saying included on this printable, I wanted something that could be used as a sympathy/encouragement card instead; so I die cut the flowers out using a stitched circle die and mounted a silver heat embossed a greeting from the Friendship Blooms stamp set over top.
My background carries the same loose watercolor appearance as the background of the floral circle panel (using the same Cracked Pistachio ink), and I layered a green vellum circle and a pink banner underneath my circle panel to tie in the rest of the colors used on the card. For a final finishing touch I used Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.
This next card was super simple to put together; after coloring all the images I fussy cut this heart out and added some enamel details using Viva Paper Pens. The Copic colors I used for my coloring are listed below:
- reds: R01, R20, R21, R17
- yellows: Y11, Y21
- pinks: RV10, RV02
- purples: V0000, V20, V15
- teals: BG10, BG34
- greens: YG0000, YG21, YG03, YG25, YG23
I die cut a sentiment using the Painted Kindness Simon Says Stamp die from red cardstock and mounted it over a vellum banner. I also die cut two hearts that were slightly smaller then my fussy cut heart; the one heart was scored at a half inch down from the top and attached the back of the second heart, which created a heart-shaped card base.
Finally, my last card features this gorgeous tree with all the pretty florals and leaves… love it! This sentiment is a really great encouragement/positive one, and I wanted to make sure I kept it in my design. So after I colored the tree, grass and words, I simply die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and mounted it onto my card base.
The Copic colors I used for this card are listed below:
- tree trunk: E33, E37, E47, E49
- leaves: YG21, YG23, YG63, YG67
- flowers: RV10, RV02, Y11, Y21, R01, R20
- berries: BG34, R20, V15
- grass: YG0000, YG21, YG95, YG63
To finish off the card I added a bit of hemp cord across the top; the natural look of the hemp matched up perfectly with the organic feel of this card.
I hope this has given you some ideas on how to use your Simon Says Stamp watercolor printables for either traditional watercolor, or mix it up and use Copics, colored pencils, pastels and more! Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me; I hope you’ll stop back on Monday for a new video tutorial featuring the Zig Clean Color brush markers!
