Neat & Tangled Reveal Day #3
Happy Wednesday everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by and joining me for day three of the Neat & Tangled release week! Today I am showcasing the adorable Itty Bitty Welcoming Committee stamp set!
I also have another post up on my blog for today. If you are looking for the post for Whimsy Stamps’s release week, see this link: Whimsy Stamps Reveal #3.
I just adore the cute critters in the Itty Bitty stamp set! I wanted to keep with the baby-theme of the stamp set (although you could use it for other occasions too), and create a card with soft colors and a celebratory feel.
I almost always start off my cards by creating the main focal point; in this case the critters. I stamped them onto white cardstock and colored them each with Copics. The colors are broken down below:
- lamb: C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, E0000, E50, E30, RV00, R20
- bunny: BV0000, BV31, RV00, R20
- bird: YR0000, E00, YR82, Y000, Y11, BG10, RV00,
- blanket: Y000, Y11, Y21
Once all my coloring was done, I created my scene elements… The grass is die cut from white linen cardstock and inked with a very light blending of Shabby Shutters distress ink; I added some stippling to the grass for a bit of texture and shading using YG61, BG93 and BG90 Copic markers.
The sky and grassy hill behind the critters are ink blended with distress inks and masks I created using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside and Puffy Cloud border dies. The inks I used were Picked Raspberry and Wild Honey for the sky, and Shabby Shutters again for the grass, but this time more intensely applied then as with the grass in the foreground.
The fence die is created from a Pretty Pink Posh Picket Fence set and I used white linen cardstock for this as well.
Before putting my scene together, I stamped part of my sentiment from Itty Bitty Welcoming Committee onto my background panel with Soft Granite ink and then the rest was gold heat embossed onto vellum. I popped the vellum sentiment up from the background using clear Kool-Tak dimensional tape.
To finish off this adorable baby card, I scattered a few sequins from Neat & Tangled’s newest sequin mixes (don’t you just LOVE the colors??); I’ve used Buttercream, Cotton Candy and Ocean Breeze mixes for this card.
