Copic Colored Critters with Whimsy Stamps

Hello everyone! I’m so happy you’ve stopped by today, as I am sharing a fun, holiday scene card featuring stamps from Whimsy Stamps.

Whimsy Stamps is a new-to-me stamp company, but I am thoroughly impressed with their high quality red rubber stamps. They have a wide range of images; everything from critters, to people and lots of things in between!

The stamps come untrimmed, so you’ll want to make sure that you have some sharp scissors handy to trim them down a bit (trimming your stamps close to the image helps cut down on unwanted ink potentially being transferred to your project).

For my project today, I have used the adorable Two Christmas Tales and the Christmas Moments stamp sets; this card features quite a few of my favorite techniques, including Copic coloring, texture paste and foiling. The stamped image has a cross-hatch/sketchy ground drawn underneath the critters, and I wanted to have the ground stretch across the bottom portion of this card, so I used a Copic friendly black multiliner and sketched in some more of the ground to continue the look.

For the background, I used a pouncing technique with some ink blending tools to fade the sky out into my white panel; the inks I used were Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough distress inks.

When foiling, you may have noticed the parchment paper sandwich I used to feed my foiled paper through my laminator; baking parchment paper is a perfect carrier sheet for your foiling projects, as it is thin enough for the heat to adhere the foil to the paper, but it is meant to withstand high temperatures. You can find parchment paper in almost any grocery store or market.
