Foiling Die Cuts with Newton’s Nook Design

Hi! I am so happy you are stopping by today, as I have a cute Christmas card to share with you, featuring stamps and dies from Newton’s Nook Designs!

I recently received a laminator from a sweet friend of mine, and I just had to try doing some foiling techniques with my new machine! After some testing, I found a method that worked best for me, as I created this super pretty foiled Christmas tree using the brand new, Newton’s Nook Fox Hollow die set.

I started off by taking a small piece of toner paper and laying some gold Deco Foil over top of the  paper. I carefully then sandwiched the foil and toner paper into a folded piece of baking parchment paper (used as my carrier sheet), and fed the sandwich into my laminator. Once the foiling was finished, I removed my foiled paper from the sandwich and die cut it using the tree die from Fox Hollow.

To create the rest of my card, I gold heat embossed my sentiment onto some vellum using the Holiday Wishes stamp set. My vellum is die cut using the My Favorite Things Cross-Stitched Rectangles Stax set and layered on top of a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles die, cut from white cardstock.

I attached the foiled tree to my vellum and applied white Enamel Accents to create some snow. Sequins from the Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Classic sequin mix (both the 4mm and 6mm mixes, as well as some Sparkling Clear 4mm sequins, created some really cute Christmas ornaments.

Finally, some patterned papers and some ribbons “tied together” (pun intended!) the whole design.

I loved my foiled tree so much, that I knew the rest of the card needed to be a simple and clean-cut design, and I am very pleased with how it all worked out! I hope you too have enjoyed; thanks so much for stopping by!
