Thankful Leaves Envelope Art

Hello Everyone! It’s a chilly day here in northern New England, making it feel a bit more like fall, making today’s project is a perfect prelude of the crisp days to come …

I love the brand new Thankful stamp set from Ellen Hutson… I hadn’t gotten to play with it yet, so I thought I would use it to create an artistic-style, watercolored envelope!

I started off by using my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch board to make an A2 sized envelope from watercolor paper. I then took some Staz On ink and stamped all of the images from the Thankful Leaves stamp set around the edges on the front of the envelope.

Using some Tim Holtz distress ink (Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick, Picked Raspberry, Forest Moss, Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves), I loosely watercolored the images and then let everything air dry.

Once dry, I took some Fossilized Amber and an ink blending tool, and inked the edges of the envelope. Finally, I took some Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber and Tea Dye distress inks and  flicked on some ink splatters to give a more organic look to the paper.
