Lawnscaping Challenge #114 – One Layer

Hi! I am popping in today with a card that I have created as a guest designer over at the Lawnscaping challenge blog!

 

 

This week’s challenge theme is “One Layer”, and is sponsored by the one and only, Lawn Fawn! I wanted to create a unique spin on the one layer theme, so for my card I did some partial die cutting to achieve a one layer-trifold birthday card!

 

 

To start off, I took a 5 1/2″ by 10 1/2″ piece of cardstock and scored it at 3 1/2″ intervals. On the left flap, I stamped the fox and balloons from Party Animals, and then ran this panel through my Big Shot twice using the My Favorite Things Grassy Fields die set. I used a partial die cutting technique so as not to cut off the fox. Once this was die cut I took my scissors and trimmed off the remainder of the panel and fussy cut around the fox.

 

 

Continuing onto the right flap, I die cut the hill using the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die set, then trimmed off the remaining portion of the flap. Finally, the middle panel was die cut using the Puffy Cloud borders die set from Lawn Fawn.

All of my shading and coloring was done with Copic markers and distress ink. I also added some confetti and a heat embossed sentiment, both of which include stamps from the Party Animals stamp set. Finally, some finishing touches included Wink of Stella glitter and Glossy Accents over portions of the card.
