Simon Says Food or Drink

Hi Everyone! Today I am back over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog for the Food or Drink challenge!

This week we are showcasing Simon Says Stamp exclusive products! For my card, I have chosen to work with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies, some shades of Simon cardstock, and one of my all-time favorite stencils, Falling Snow.

To create this card, I die cut all my elements first: the cloud panel is cut from white cardstock using the Stitched Rectangles dies and the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio cloud die. The sandy dunes are cut from kraft cardstock using the sloped dies from the Landscape Trios and the Stitched Rectangles. The sun is die cut from yellow cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers die set. The water is cut from blue cardstocks and vellum using the Stitched Rectangle dies and some scalloped edged scissors.

Once all my elements were cut, I added shading with Copics and distress ink, and also some transparent embossing paste over top the water die cuts, using the Falling Snow stencil.

I stamped the penguin, the beach ball and two palm trees from the My Favorite Things Penguins in Paradise set onto white cardstock and colored everything in with Copics. Once everything was fussy cut out, I added some Glossy Accents over top of the beach ball, the penguin’s body and his drink glass.

I heat embossed my sentiment onto the cloud panel, attached all the die cut elements together, and layered my stamped images on top to build this tropical scene. I love how it turned out!
