You’re the Coolest

Hello! Today I am back to share a “cool” penguin card, featuring the brand new Penguins in Paradise stamps from My Favorite Things!

When I saw this stamp set, I knew right away that I wanted to create a little tropical scene for this little guy. I started off by stamping the penguin, two palm trees, and the beach ball onto some white cardstock. I then colored them with my Copic markers. Once colored, I fussy cut all the images out.

I then moved on to some die cutting; the sandy dunes and clouds are created from the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio dies, the beach grass is from the My Favorite Things Grassy Fields die set, and the sun is cut using the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers set.

I shaded the die cuts with Copic markers, and layered them onto a watercolor paper panel that I die cut from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die set (the sky on the panel is created by ink smooshing some Peacock Feathers distress ink over top). I also tucked some water behind the dunes, which I created by cutting blue cardstock with some scalloped edged scissors.

With my scene backdrop ready, I began adding  in the images I had previously stamped and colored. I added some Glossy Accents to some of the elements of the images, and also stamped the sentiment “you’re the coolest” in Memento ink, which is also from the Penguins in Paradise stamp set.

To finish up my card, I layered my scene onto some yellow cardstock and my white card base, and attached some sequins from the Ton’s Gala Invitation Couture mix onto the palm trees to create some fun coconuts!
