Shaker Card For Mom

Hello! I am so happy you’ve stopped by today for a darling, squared-shaped shaker card that I am sharing (sorry about the tongue twister! LOL)!

I love this little Betsy image from the Penny Black Inc., Betsy Bluebell stamp set… with Betsy holding her sweet little bouquet of flowers, and her darling smile, I thought she would be perfect for this Mother’s Day card.

I started off by die cutting the frame of my shaker using the Mom Frame digital cut file that I designed and which is available over at my shop. Inside my Silhouette Studio, I traced the image with the tracing tool and then die cut it from white cardstock four times using my Cameo machine (frames are cut at 3 1/2″ square). Once the frames were cut, I layered them together and covered the top layer with Wink of Stella glitter.

I then stamped little Betsy onto some white cardstock and colored her in with Copic markers. I added some extra grass as well, before fussy cutting the entire piece out. I then layered the fussy cut Betsy behind my frame and attached a sheet of acetate beneath her. My shaker is filled with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins; a mixture of both the Marshmallow and Springtime sequins.

My card base is 4 1/4″ square, and I applied Ranger texture paste over the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts stencil to create a subtle background. I also scored the frame around the edges, and finally, I attached my shaker element to the card.

To finish everything off, I applied a bit of Viva Decor Paper Pen and some Glossy Accents to parts of the Betsy image, as I love adding little details like that to my cards.
