Contrast Stamping

Hello!

So glad you’ve stopped by, as I have another card to share with you featuring the Altenew Vintage Roses stamp set. If you missed my previous post featuring a one layer card using this set, be sure to check it out for more inspiration!

For this card, I chose to work with a teal, gray and black color combo… so modern and beautiful, I thought it would look great paired together with these vintage roses stamps to create a high contrasting image.

I began by stamping one of the roses and the leaf cluster (stamped twice) onto some textured watercolor paper. I used two teal pigment inks for the flower and a gray pigment ink for the leaves, stamping the shadows with some Black Soot distress ink. Then, with some fine tip scissors, I fussy cut my three images out and set them aside while I went to work on the rest of the card.

I cut a watercolor panel to 3 3/4″ by 4 1/2″ and ran it through my Big Shot machine to emboss a chevron pattern into the paper. I then masked off the side edges of the panel, inking it with some of the teal ink used in my rose, and flicked on some black and teal ink splatters for a bit of interest. This panel is layered a top of some silver glitter paper, and adhered with foam tape to my back card base.

I cut two banners; one from vellum and the other from glitter paper, and adhered them together. With some more vellum, I white heat embossed the “Happy Anniversary” sentiment (included in the Vintage Roses set), and trimmed it out with my precision scissors. I clustered my leaves and flower into the center of my banners, and adhered the sentiment over top.

For a finishing touch, I added some Wink of Stella glitter to the flowers, leaves, portions of the chevrons, and also to the black card base.

I love how bold and modern this card turned out! I hope you’ve enjoyed as well… thanks again for stopping by!

Happy Creating! :)
