Congrats of All Kinds
Happy Sunday!
Today I have a set of four “congrats” cards to share with you, featuring a variety of congratulatory events, ranging from graduations and birthdays to weddings and babies. Moments like these are celebrated often, and the cards in this set are perfect for those very special days!
I was inspired to create these cards by the new co-challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn Flickr groups… the theme for this challenge is “getting crafty with kraft”, and I thought it would be great to pair the Simon Says Stamp “Celebration Time” and “Cake & Congrats” die sets with the Lawn Fawn “Blue Skies” and “Milo’s ABCs” stamp sets.
Because this was going to be a set, I used the same design on each card, varying only a few different pieces here and there.
I began my card(s) by cutting an A2 sized card base from kraft cardstock, rounded the corners, and stamped my sentiment using the Lawn Fawn “Milo’s ABCs” stamp set and StazOn Jet Black ink.
Moving on to the background, I used the outline stars (or hearts) included in the Lawn Fawn “Blue Skies” stamp set, and focused on keeping my images in the lower left and upper right corners of the card. All my stamping of the outline images was done in StazOn Jet Black ink.
Once the outline images were stamped, I then took the small star (0r heart) solid stamp (also included in the stamp set), and filled in the rest of the areas around the larger stars or hearts. My stamping was done in Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink. Lastly, I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the large heart images and added some white dots with a gel pen.
Next, I began die cutting all the round balloons included in the Simon Says Stamp “Celebration Time” wafer die set. I used a variety of coordinating patterned papers for each card. Once my balloons were die cut, I laid them out on my card in the arrangement that I liked and stamped some balloon strings from the Simon Says Stamp “Celebrate” stamp set in white pigment ink. My balloons were then given some details with a white gel pen and Wink of Stella clear glitter.
I die cut the “congrats” word from some silver glitter paper, using the Simon Says Stamp “Cake and Congrats” wafer die set, and adhered this above my stamped sentiment using some matte liquid adhesive.
I repeated the same process for each card and to finish off them off, I also stamped the insides of the cards with the same design as I did for the background on the front of the card, leaving the center plain for someone to write their own greetings and sentiments.
I just love how the stamps and dies paired so well together, creating a variety of cards, all festive and fun, with bright and happy colors! I hope you’ve enjoyed this little congratulatory card set… Thanks so much for stopping by!
Challenges
All of these cards are submitted into the Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge.
The “New Baby Boy” card is submitted into the Color Throwdown color challenge #330.
And while I did not create a paradise-themed card for the Simon Says Stamp “Paradise” Monday Challenge, I was in a paradise-type environment watching the snow fall outside my window as I crafted at my cozy warm desk… the “Congrats Graduate” card is submitted into this challenge.
