4 Christmas Cards to Make with Tim Holtz’s New Stampers Anonymous Release
I am extremely excited to share FOUR Christmas card projects, all featuring the GORGEOUS, new Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous release! There are many stamp sets and a stencil, almost all of which I use in my projects. The release is amazing and I have loved using all of these new sets; Simon Says Stamp even has a special “I want it all” bundle where you can purchase the entire collection.
To make things easy and organized, I’ve broken the cards down one by one in this post.
Holly Jolly Santa Card
This card features a bit of dry brushing in the background using Distress Inks. I then stamped over the background with the a border from Tim Holtz’s Jolly Santa stamp set using three shades of Simon Says Stamp inks. Using a stencil from Tim’s Set 31 set, I applied Texture Paste over the background.
Santa was stamped with Simon Says Stamp ink onto vellum. Because stamping on vellum takes longer to dry, that gave me the opportunity to apply Clear Embossing Powder over top for a glossy finish. You’ll notice Santa’s sparkly beard and hat; I applied Mica Flakes and Clear Rock Candy glitter over certain areas for a shimmery effect.
I stamped a sentiment from the Bold Tidings stamp set and embossed with both Cream and Antique Gold embossing powders from Simon. A bit of twine was the perfect finishing touch on this card.

Winter Watercolor with Peppermint Stripes Card
I love a good peppermint stripe! The new Multi Stripes Shifter stencil from Tim Holtz has three layers that allow you to create custom candy stripes. I made the holiday stripes that you see on this card by first blending a bit of Iced Spruce Distress Ink; then I shifted the stencil and added a layer of Snowfall Grit Paste. Once that dried, I came through once more (shifting the stencil again), and blended a layer of Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany on top.
In the middle of all this blending is a gorgeous holly sprig that I pulled from Tim’s new Winter Watercolor stamp set. I used Karin markers and did a bit of watercolor stamping to create a beautiful image that looks like it took a lot of effort to color (but it didn’t)! On top of the holly sprig are some clear droplets I colored with red alcohol inks. I tied some peppermint twine to the top of the card and hung a snowflake Adornment from Tim Holtz onto that same twine.

Frosty Winter Watercolor Magic Card
After making some classic Christmas cards, I decided to next go with a more non-traditional color palette and create a frosty winter scene. I ink smooshed Tattered Rose and Iced Spruce inks onto Bristol paper. On top of that smooshing, I stamped images from the Jolly Santa and Winter Watercolor sets for some texture in the background; I used the same inks plus Antique Linen for that stamping.
The watercolor Christmas tree takes center stage on this card; I used Karin markers and the watercolor stamping technique to create that multi-toned tree. On top of the entire card are additional layers. I created some paste accents with the Speckles and Set 31 stencil sets; the pastes I used were White Grit Paste and Texture Paste. Along the edges of the card is a frame of Mica Flakes, and I glued silver glitter die cut Snowflakes (created with a Tim Holtz die). The final touches were a gold start at the top of the tree and a sentiment from Tim’s new Cozy Christmas stamp set.

A Vintage Cozy Christmas Card
My absolute favorite set from the new Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous Christmas release is this darling Cozy Christmas stamp set. For detailed cling stamps like this one, watercolor stamping is a technique that I reach for time and again. There’s something magical about the way the colors blend and move together to create the picture. Again, I used Karin markers for the watercolor stamping.
In the background of the scene, I ink blended multiple shades of Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I then added some tone-on-tone stenciling over the blended areas using the same inks and Tim’s Nordic layering stencil. My final touch was to add some splatters with a few Distress Stains, plus the Peppermint Stick and Frost Juniper Mica Stains.
