If you are short on time, or simply looking for a new way to color your outline stamps, I have an idea to share with you! I am using one of the new products I designed for Simon Says Stamp’s Make Magic release – Mountainscape. With just some colorful ink blending, I was able to make a bright slimline card that has a lot of character – and it was SO easy to do!
The Mountainscape cling was stamped and white heat embossed onto a slimline card base from Simon. I then used a variety of Simon Says Stamp inks to blend over the embossed lines (which act as a resist), creating a pretty sunset scene.
I then layered a stencil I illustrated for the Make Magic release (which was Slimline Sun Rays) over the mountain scene. Using the same colors I used for the first round of blending, I stenciled the sun rays to look as if they are peeking from behind the mountains.
I finished my card up with some Magic Stars, die cut from gold glitter paper, and a pair of greetings from the Magical to Me stamp and die set.
This technique of applying ink over an outline stamp is a great way to give these stamps a whole new look! And if you don’t have time to color an entire background, this is a great way to make your card stand out without putting a ton of effort into coloring.
