Comparing Both Sides of an Embossing Folder + Simon’s Holly Jolly Release

Embossing folders are so much fun to creating amazing texture and depth! I am super excited about brand new embossing folders Simon Says Stamp has released in their latest collection, Holly Jolly! The Forest Border folder was a perfect backdrop for the scene I’ve created with the also-new, Christmas Kitties set and Script Joy dies from Simon!
I made 2 cards with this embossing folder because I wanted to show you the difference between using the embossed and debossed sides. This is the what the embossed side of the paper looks like – see how the trees are raised above the rest of the paper?
In comparison, the debossed side is where the trees are impressed into the paper, creating the opposite relief that the embossed side gave us. Take a look at how it changes the background!
In the video at the top of this post, I will walk you through not only how I used the embossing folders, but how I also created the rest of this card using these adorable kitties!
