Watercoloring on Die Cuts + Simon’s Peeking Cat Die
Hello crafters! One of my favorite ways to create with dies is to color them. I couldn’t resist the cuteness of the Peeking Cat die from Simon Says Stamp, which is what I am featuring today in my card!
I started off the card by die cutting the Peeking Cat from Arches watercolor paper four times. Each cat I colored differently with Prima Watercolor Confections; I gave each cat it’s own unique colors and markings, which makes them look completely different from each other!
Behind the cats I have a Distress Oxide ink blended panel (separated from the cat panel with foam tape). Onto that background, I added a layer of texture paste using the Confetti stencil from Simon. Before the paste dried, I sprinkled a bit of Unicorn Dust glitter on top, giving the paste a glittery finish.
Next, I added some sentiments! The greetings I chose were from the Simon Says Stamp Stop, Drop, Party and Punny Animals stamp sets. Each one is white embossed onto colored cardstocks, then popped up off the card with foam tape.
To embellish the card, I added some of the Strawberry Shortcake sequins from Simon here and there around the cats, along with a few dots of Morning Dew Nuvo Drops. Finally, I mounted everything onto a Neenah Desert Storm card base.
These kitties were literally so much fun to color, and I hope it has inspired you to create with this fun, new die from Simon! Thank you so much for stopping by and spending some time with me today; I will see you again very soon with more inspiration to share!
